Excursion to Montserrat, Spain from 3 -7.11.24 exclusively for the participants of Design Studio “The Cosmic Mountain” LVA 253.L77
Travel has to be organized independently! Accommodation in the monastery is paid for individually but will be organised by the school.
Programm:
Day 1: Fly to Barcelona, travel to the village of Monistrol de Montserrat
Day 2: Climb to the top of Montserrat (or take the Aeri de Montserrat Cable Car), visit Montserrat Abbey, Basilica, and Montserrat Museum. Take the “Santa Cova” funicular to the Holy Cave where the legend of the Black Madonna is localised. Hear a talk from a local expert on the religious and cultural significance of the mountain.
Day 3: Begin the filmmaking workshop with an introductory lecture and an assignment. Depending on weather, take the Sant Joan Funicular to the highest vantage point in the mountain and hike down.
Day 4: morning review of first assignment and continuation of the workshop on site. evening: present outcome of the workshop.
Day 5: Return to Barcelona.
