The public space of Vienna’s city centre is rich in unique spatial situations and becomes the field of investigation for the design exercise Stadtgalerie.
Researching and noting the public accessibility of an urban space in the first district, as well as analysing threshold spaces, lighting and spatial atmospheres form the basis for the design.
Following on from the Margaretengürtel underground station, an underground city gallery is to be created as a public interior space that invites people to stroll, gather and exhibit.
