Stadtachse
Unsere Städte sind mit Räumen übersät, die im Zuge von Wachstum und Entwicklung verlassen wurden. Ausgediente Infrastrukturen, Industriebrachen, Resträume und Ränder sind Beispiele für Orte, die wir als vernachlässigte Räume der Stadt wahrnehmen, die trotz ihrer Verschiedenheit Ausdruck realer Geschichte sind und sich dadurch als identitätsstiftend erweisen.
Das Nachdenken über diese Räume stellt Fragen nach einer neuen Interpretation des Ortes und seiner Verwendung. Die Spuren der Vergangenheit bieten das Potential, den Orten durch strategische und taktische Eingriffe eine neue Identität zu verleihen. Wir erforschen diese Räume, rekontextualisieren und interpretieren sie neu als Kunsträume in der Stadt.
Our cities are littered with sites that have been abandoned in the course of growth and development. Disused infrastructures, industrial wastelands, residual spaces and margins are examples of places that we perceive as neglected spaces of the city, which, despite their diversity, are an expression of real history and thus prove to be a source of identity.
Thinking about these spaces raises questions about a new interpretation of the location and its use. The traces of the past offer the potential to give the sites a new identity through strategic and tactical interventions. We explore these spaces and recontextualise and reinterpret them as art spaces in the city.
